Catipilla designs, manufactures and retails an innovative range of wall-mounted products that enrich the lives of cats. To scale-up sales, distribution, manufacturing and export capability, Catipilla decided to raise capital via crowdfunding. Catipilla – The Brand
Catipilla manufactures a range of wall-mounted climbers, stretchers, resting points and accessories suitable for cats. What started as a DIY project for Andy, their founder, turned out to be a fully scalable business with tremendous growth opportunity. Indeed, Catipilla have sold 2,000+ units in 16 countries in their first 3 years. The wall-mounted devices help cat owners to make great use of space, whether that be indoors or outdoors. The products also help cats perform instinctive natural behaviors, thereby keeping them healthy and fit.
The global pandemic turned things around for Catipilla, but in a positive way, as the business witnessed a 5.36x increase in orders during lockdown in 2020 (compared to Q2 & Q3 2019). With returning customers, exceptional 5-star reviews and zero returns to date, Catipilla wanted to raise funds via crowdfunding to scale-up sales, distribution, manufacturing and export capability.
Catipilla Crowdfunding – How Drop Studio supported them
Catipilla partnered with us for their fundraising campaign on Crowdcube, and we helped them create their campaign video. They enrolled in our Fundraising Accelerator which includes crowdfunding video production, our online crowdfunding course, a campaign manager and our investor research. Our creative team took up the challenge of shooting the video with Lola and Willow (the cats), Nala and Blue (the dogs) and of course, the goats. Towards the end of their 30-day crowdfunding campaign, 275 investors joined Catipilla in their fundraising endeavor, collectively pledging £185,782 – thereby successfully overfunding by 185%.
